Work Comp Premium Auditors Sue IPI Over Unpaid Overtime
Lear Werts LLP and our co-counsel Stueve Siegel Hanson, LLP have filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of premium auditors employed by Information Providers seeking unpaid wages and overtime.
Summary of Lawsuit
We represent premium auditors in a wage and hour class action against Info Providers. The case is filed as Miranda Stephenson, individually and on behalf of a class of others similarly situated v. Information Providers, Inc., and is pending in the District of Minnesota as Case No. 08CV04619.
The lawsuit alleges that Information Providers consistently violates federal and state wage and hour laws by failing to accurately record all time worked and failing to pay earned wages, including overtime. Examples of the unlawful practices claimed include requiring employees to work "off the clock" by not paying for work performed pre-shift, post-shift, and during meal breaks. The workers are seeking collective action status.
