Workers’ Compensation Settlement Obtained for Warehouse Worker that Suffered a Hernia

Lear Werts recovered a five-figure settlement for an employee that suffered a hernia while lifting heavy boxes of frozen food at work. The injured worker’s employer claimed the injury was only a strained muscle despite the hernia having been diagnosed based upon an ultrasound.  The injured worker’s employer claimed that the cause of the hernia was unknown despite the evidence pointing to the strenuous work required of the employee.  The injured worker required surgery with a mesh implant to repair the hernia. Lear Werts fought for the injured worker and was able to secure compensation for the permanent partial disability the client suffered as a result of his work injury.
